Gordes :: 24 August, 2006
Well for all those people who have asked us if any of our images are HDR, here is our first one. Gordes is a very picturesque village with a castle, some chapels, and even a whole Abbey! We did a walk circumnavigating the village and taking in a very nice gorge on the way, but it was one of those rare overcast days - but it least it wasn't raining! We made several phone calls to the UK during the trip asking about what the weather was doing and it appeared to be best down in the South so we stayed around, but as you can see the skies on that day were not clear.

So had a bit of a tinker with Photomatix - am a total HDR newb, so it is all very new. We only had one raw file so I made 3 versions with different exposures and merged them and tone mapped them. Not sure what all the sliders do but we liked the effect considering the original was very dull. Now I think I prefer this black and white version so that's the one we're putting up today.
